Review on KINBOOFI TINHIFI T2 Plus: Cutting-Edge IEM Dynamic HiFi Headphones for Musicians and Audiophiles by Carolina Whipple

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Balanced, detailed, mature sound.

TINHIFI T2 PlusT2 Plus is my first encounter with TinHifi. I was glad to try them after reading many positive reviews of other TinHifi headphones. I wasn't disappointed! The packaging is very pretty and high quality. I like the blue and gold theme. They just look and feel high quality. The headphone body is made of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy and feels comfortable. You have a well tuned Nano Creative dynamic driver on each side. The pads are smooth and fit snugly around the ears. They are very comfortable and sometimes I forget they are inside. I really like their organic shape and minimalistic design. The silver plated cable is pretty good for a standard cable and has a soft and flexible feel with metal MMCX connectors. A clear plastic strap comes in handy to minimize tangles. Simply slide the bead over the MMCX connectors before coiling the cable for storage. Tightening the cord under the chin can help reduce cord noise, although I haven't noticed any noise. I listened to all my listening sessions with a Hiby R3 Pro with all FLAC files, 16 bit, 44.1k or better. With many new headphones coming out with 5, 6, 7 or more drivers per side, I was excited to try well designed single driver headphones. Only one driver per side eliminates the need for crossover networks to split the signal between multiple drivers. This eliminates phase problems between the drivers and keeps the frequency response curve smooth. They have a very natural and balanced sound signature with no ugly peaks and valleys. They sound very natural and soft. Low frequencies stretch deep and sub-bass effects can be heard and felt. Bass is fast and accurate, but not as cold or sterile. The bass has enough roundness and richness to make kicks and other bass instruments sound powerful and natural. Bass is definitely boosted, but in a good way. There is a lot of low bass here and the upper bass warms up the mids without sounding muddy. Love how you can hear the sound of the hammer hitting the barrel. It has good detail without going too bright and harsh. They just sound natural. The mids are the star of the show. They are smooth and silky but with excellent detail. I hear details in tracks I didn't know existed. Acoustic instruments sound woody and detailed, with lots of harmonic overtones. It's amazing how much detail you can hear without the massive high-mid peak that often gets in the way of balanced armature headphones. The dynamic driver is balanced and full of detail and texture. High frequencies are bright but not raucous. There is no hardness or ice ax here. They're not too bright, so the mids shine through. I like her! The soundstage is average. Boosting the highs can give them a more spacious sound, but the mids can be pushed back if you overdo it. I like tuning. They just sound more natural and organic than bombastic and cheeky. That describes these headphones well. They are nicely balanced and have detail throughout. They sound soft and even. They just ring true. They sound good with all genres of music, but are particularly good in mixes with acoustic instruments. Classic sounds great! Clean and honest. They're not overly hyped or overemphasizing low/high frequencies. You are balanced. Obviously I love these things and you probably do too. In addition, Kinboofi is always a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for reading! I hope this helps you find the right headphones.
