Small and expensive drying bulbs

The photo shows a normal-sized drying bulb and a quarter. One Load HE Washer and Dryer Pro: First off, let me say they work pretty well. They didn't remove 100% of the cat hair, but 90%. However, remaining hair can be removed more easily with a lint roller than without. My cat's hair tends to get caught in the fibers of clothing, but the dryer balls loosen the hair, which doesn't get completely removed. Cons: The pictures on the product page show the balls are larger than they actually are, so I assumed they were the size of regular wool drying balls. and didn't think to check the size in the description. I know! I should have known what to check. A ride through the washing machine and a ball went down the Missing Sock path and I fell to 11. I'm guessing he went down the drain. I can only hope it keeps working and not clogging. I plan to only use them in the dryer from now on - I think they are safe there. $14.99 is a lot for 12 tiny dryer balls. I suspect the material cost is less than a dollar. However, they seem to work pretty well.
