This carving set is of amazing quality. This is by far the best carving knife I have ever owned. It's durable but not too heavy and SHARP. I think some knife makers try to trade weight for quality by making people think that the heavier the knife, the better it should be. It's not always like that. I'm by no means a professional chef, but I cook A LOT and am fluent in the kitchen. This set comes in a beautiful foam covered walnut box, shaped to hold both a knife and fork. I'm not sure I'll keep them there any longer, but for now they're staying there. All in all, I absolutely recommend it. Yes, it's expensive, but it's the only wood carving kit you'll ever need to buy.
