Let's set expectations first. I don't know about your cat, but I think it's unrealistic to expect a pet to "like" them. My cat doesn't hate him though, doesn't fight tooth and claw like he does about the carrier and chills most of the walk when we take him for a ride, certainly not roaring pathetically like a carrier. Plastic is actually more flexible. than expected (still feels well built and sturdy) which is good as my cat, despite being a bit more pliable for a backpack, still doesn't hold on patiently while I gently push it - stuff like that - into the backpack . Overall I recommend this, although your mileage may vary.
