Last summer I bought something that was attached to the railing of our patio for $200! Expensive deck railing broke on initial installation. Fast forward to this summer and I decided to buy them. I used them in a pot as they couldn't get stuck in the ground on our deck. I had to cut off the spikes from below, a no brainer. I installed concrete and pipes in the base of the planter. The light pole slides in and out for easy winter storage. We've had heavy rain and wind, they're holding up great! Highly recommended!
