How do you determine the grain size?
I have a lot of shop equipment that I use for restoring and polishing stainless steel surfaces on cars. I bought six new buffs so I can dedicate each grit (color) to this grit. So there is NO explanation as to which grit is the coarsest and progressively finest for a mirror finish. Polishing stainless steel takes a long time, I don't have time for this "experiment", what kind of grit is that?
