Review on πŸ’» Toshiba HDTS212XZSTA Q-Series 128GB Internal SATA III SSD for Laptops: Superior Performance at your Fingertips by Reginald Truitt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far so good!: Internal SSDs

I bought this drive to replace the stock 320GB drive in my mid 2010 15" i5 Core MacBook Pro and damn it's an upgrade. My hard drive was about 90% full and my computer slowly started to crawl. After installing this and booting up a fresh copy of OSX Mountain Lion, my computer flies! It boots up in less than 15 seconds (compared to over 2 minutes before) and virtually no latency for anything I've tried with significant disk usage. My computer is now reasonably faster than my roommate MBP Core i7 Mid 2010 same amount of RAM and a Standard 500GB hard drive. I have a standard 320GB drive in the optical drive bay and OSX seems to be handling it decently. Because of this, the battery life has decreased significantly, but there are ways to fix this that I haven't looked into yet. This is my first experience with a CE SSD, so I can't compare this drive to others, but I can say that it's much faster than my 10,000RPM boot drive on my Windows 7 gaming computer, reliable SSD with a reasonable amount of storage space are definitely worth checking out. I just hope it lasts. Nothing interesting in losing a huge amount of data.
