Review on Latim's Professional Chef Knife 8 inch - Damascus Kitchen Knives Made of Japanese VG-10 Stainless Steel with Unique Pattern - Ultra Sharp Blade and Ergonomic Handle by Tania Parks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good solid medium quality Damascus knife

I used to buy knives based on brand and popularity only. None of them seemed to last more than a few years. I actually just thought it was ok. Then I started researching and found that Damascus steel was vastly superior to others. I have several Damascus steel knives and I can completely tell them apart, not to mention that they are beautiful to look at. The blade is 8 inches and is very sharp. The inner core is a special high carbon steel surrounded by softer stainless steel that has been forged to create a distinctive, beautiful pattern and to hold the edge to stay sharp. The handle lies comfortably in the hand. and the knife as a whole is very balanced. It's not exactly a straight blade. It has a slight curve. I won't say it's the most expensive knife, but it's a good damascus knife and it's affordable. Packed in a nice box but without a case. They are often made by a local so this has never been a problem for us.
