I have to say pleasantly surprised. I ordered wood and received stainless steel. It turns out to be the best choice. Stainless steel doesn't trap bacteria like my old wooden-handled knives that needed to be washed very thoroughly. And the stainless steel handles are hollow, making the knives easy and comfortable to use. Excellent serrated edge cuts very well. Good holder for wooden blocks. Excellent purchase. What one reviewer said is true. Knife on one side of the blade. However, it doesn't seem to affect cutting. Excellent cut. But I don't know if the real brands which are very expensive have jagged on both sides. Very happy with them so far.
