Review on Kayak Hoist Lift: Garage Ceiling Mount with 2 Pulley System - Heavy-Duty 125 Pound Capacity - Ideal for Bicycle, Paddleboard, Canoe, and Ladder Storage Tool by Troy Rotermund

Works but bad. BYO screws are junk for installing hardware.

Bought two for their kayaks. The instructions say to place the pulleys 6 feet apart. We have 10 foot flat water kayaks. We followed the instructions exactly. 4 screws broke off when my husband screwed them in - I had to use his own he had on hand (how can you trust the quality of the rest of the device when the screws don't even hold up to assembly?!). Then we tried to put the kayak in the straps and they kept slipping because the pulleys were too far apart! So we first tried tying them together with ropes to hold them together. Which worked except it went that high and was about 5ft from the ceiling. So we reluctantly moved one of the rollers 2 feet closer to the other. It worked but the kayak is still lower than I would have liked but at least gets it off the ground. All in all, if we weren't so motivated to pick them up at that minute, I would return them and go with the wall storage option we had in our other home.
