Large board flexes just enough to hit the table and makes a very loud noise when you hit a carnation. It is treated by placing potholders underneath. (It would be better if the manufacturer made the rubber overhangs a bit higher). Other than that, the only caveat is that they're small, but I wish the big one could go in the dishwasher. Next time I would buy two bigger ones. There is a groove around the perimeter on one side, which I don't think is bad. For me, the side with no ridges works best for pushing everything that's been cut into the pot or bowl.
