Works very well on knives without burrs. I've used it on some of our very old dull kitchen knives and it only took a few minutes to restore a very sharp edge on a chef's knife and a small paring knife and I can now restore that edge quickly and easily two or three times. . use. I tried a serrated bread knife, which wasn't easy because of the large serrations. This knife was already sharp so not sure if that helped. Bottom line - worth five stars for the price and ease of use as it actually works very well with basic knives. I've only had it a few weeks so can't comment on durability although it looks well made and should last a long time.
