Review on πŸ’Ό Enhanced Sharp OZ-770PC PIM for Efficient Personal Information Organization by Christian Poojary

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best organizer you can buy.

This is a cool** organiser. I first bought a $50 Franklin Rolodex, but the screen on it was like a mirror. Every time I opened it, I saw less data and more of me on the screen. Watch out for green screen issues on gadgets under $100. I had to rule out Palm devices because they are too expensive to store addresses, notes, planners, etc. I don't travel much and usually carry a laptop with me to access the internet (online or offline) and email. So I decided to try the OZ-770. The first thing that startled me was that it runs Sharp's proprietary operating system and syncs with Sharp's own DayTimer software. This means that if I switch to a Palm or WindowsCE device later, I have to re-enter all the data. Here's the good news: There's a company called Rupplynx that offers free software (called RuppLynx Express) that syncs the OZ-770 with Microsoft Outlook. I successfully use this software to sync all my data to my PC. Most portable devices on the market sync very well with Microsoft Outlook. Now with RuppLynx Express I can always upgrade to Palm, WindowsCE or whatever. In other words, I'm not tied to any pushy brand and technology. The OZ-770 offers the following features and more: - Phone Book - Planner - Birthday/Anniversary - Calculator - Converter - Calendar - World Clock - Notes - Tasks - Downloadable Programs (from [.]) The OZ-770 also offers many configuration options to the On the pros and cons of the OZ-770 I found the following: PROS: - Great user interface - Great screen, great (wide) display (no glare) - Great backlight - Nice and easy to use keyboard - Lots of features (more than offered by Palm ) - Memory usage (3 MB) - Long battery life due to very low power consumption - Very, very cheap price CONS: - Only available in silver sprayed on plastic - Slightly larger to take literally anywhere. Bottom Line: If you don't need offline or online access to the Internet or email, then the OZ-770 is a must-have for anyone looking for an organizer.
