Good support for moderate ankle pain

A few years ago, I badly rolled my ankle. It was two months before I could really walk normally, and a full year before I was without pain. I've learned that there's a variety of support options. If I've hurt my ankle, I need a lace-up heavy support, or some tall leather boots, laced tight, to actually provide the structure to carry my weight around. But if I haven't hurt my ankle, and plan to do some jogging or a lot work, I just need something to support the ankle. This brace, really a stretchy and tight sock with open toes, makes a real difference. Instead of a dull ache in my ankle after a long run, I just feel normal. My ankle was kept in place better, and the brace compressed and supported my foot. The brace absorbed moisture, and didn't move around on my foot, which is pretty critical during a run. The medium was fine for my 9.5 wide foot. It's well sewn, and feels like a quality sock, except that it stretches and squeeze around my ankle.I'd suggest something more substantial if you have a fresh injury, but for the rest of us, who just want to stay on our feet and know that can bring back old pains, this is a great athletic aid.
