Review on 🩹 QuikClot Adventure Trauma Pack with Medical Kit by Tim Ram

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Carry one with me at all times

I always carry one with me because I like to carry a minimum amount of medication for emergencies (especially injuries, this has been the case since I first started training as a rescue team). Having said that, I bought a pair when I bought it and had to use one recently and was hesitant to write a review until I've used one with actual experience. I ended up with a good friend and his child sustained a laceration about an inch above the wrist to mid-palm through all layers of skin with moderate to heavy bleeding (luckily it didn't hit the radial arteries). I always carried one of these in my cargo pocket wherever I went and as soon as I saw it I pulled it out, ripped it open, put on gloves, opened the clotting sponge and started applying pressure. out of seriousness, I made him sit in a chair and my dad called 911 to call an ambulance. The child was eventually safe and well. The reason I shared a summary of this experience is that while I've never seen the contents or the layout of this set, this set was able to quickly assess the position of items and use them quickly and effectively with a child of moderate difficulty until heavy bleeding was key and my personal experience convinced me of the need to have one of these sets with me at all times. I will note that the expiration date isn't exactly what I expected, although I would prefer the kits to be 3-5 years good rather than 1-2 years. I bought 2 and one expired in less than a year, the other expired in just under a year and a half. Edit: 8-11-19 3:45 pm CST corrected spelling mistakes and added clarifications.
