My Corsair v100i liquid cooler originally came with a square of thermal grease pre-applied, but I've found that my temperatures are higher than expected and my fans on the heatsink run at full speed when running Even under load, this is not what you would expect from a supposedly silent solution. The fact that the temperature reached 70°C meant a potential thermal threat to my 2700K processor. So I ordered this and using alcohol wipes I cleaned the pre applied square of thermal paste from the top of the CPU and the base of the cooler and applied a nice thin coat of this Arctic Silver and smeared it in an even and even layer inside the glove. fingertip. I screwed the cooler back onto the CPU and now my temps hit 45C under load like they should and my fans rarely spin to 1/2 speed. Since then I have been using the Arctic Silver brand. I built my first system in 2001 with an AMD Socket A Athalon processor and it was always the best. A lot of cooler solutions these days come pre-applied with a small square of thermal paste, but honestly, for as little money as it costs, you should use that instead. Could have saved me some trouble by just swapping when assembling, but learned lessons.
