I bought these to replace a dull set of knives that were no longer sharp. What attracted me to these knives is that they are stainless steel and dishwasher safe. One star off because one of the four knives is blunt. Something is wrong with the way the tines were cut. A star was also deducted because the instructions that came with the set state that you must remove the knives from the dishwasher before the final rinse. To me, if something is dishwasher safe, that means it can withstand a full wash/rinse/dry cycle in the dishwasher. Not this one. The three remaining sharp knives are good and sharp and I have no problem using them as knives. If I hadn't thrown away the packaging material, I probably would have exchanged the set I received for a different one. Updated 05/30/13. The second knife in the set is blunt. The remaining pair was put into storage and a new set ordered. However, from a different manufacturer.
