So far so good! I watched videos on YouTube, actually I watched several different videos to make sure they are exactly the same steps to update PS3 hard drive. I'm not a techie or handyman, but it was pretty easy! Make sure you have a small Phillips screwdriver and you're pretty much spot on. In fact, all you have to do is loosen 1 screw on the bottom of the PS3 Slim, then pull out the plastic strip and you'll see the hard drive tray. It comes out right away, you need to take out 4 more small screws holding the disk on the rail and put in a new drive! It is very important to ensure that you have the latest firmware update for your PS3, the steps for this procedure can be found on the Playstation website and you will need a flash drive for this step that comes into play. after installing a new Seagate 500GB hard drive. Obviously there are other steps involved in transferring files from an old PS3 but I didn't do that, I was starting from scratch and just wanted more disk space. As much as I love my new PS4, it won't play PS3 discs. There are so many great games on PS3 and I need enough storage space! Long live the PS3
