First, let me clear up a common misconception about the product. The main microphone with auxiliary jacks only works in a mobile phone or device that combines the headphone and microphone in one jack. The optional microphone does not work alone on the mobile phone, but in the microphone jack on the computer. Both microphones can be used interchangeably with the purchase of a TRS > TRRS adapter and a TRRS > TRS adapter. TRS > TRRS connects to an independent microphone, so it can be connected directly to a mobile phone, while the TRRS > TRS adapter allows you to do the same for a simple microphone. This particular situation can be useful for connecting two microphones to the same audio input channel of a more traditional system (or using two microphones on the same speaker for redundancy, etc.). The mics themselves work great with both my recording setup and my cell phone. The native Android camera app from 06/21/2017 does not recognize this external microphone, but the Open Camera app works quite well with the setting. Being omnidirectional they pick up some background when you're not adjusting your audio, but the clarity is pretty good. All in all a great product for the price.
