Works but is very noisy

Have bought 7 of this item (all 4 sockets) over the last few years with this and another account. Generally they work and have never broken. That's why I kept buying them. But they are really, really LOUD! My fish room has 15 tanks serviced by these air pumps, but I can't stay there too long because of the noise. The bottom line is that the noise levels of different pumps vary greatly, and some of them are much louder than others. And the noise level is not determined by the age of the pumps.
