I've spent days connecting my modem to Comcast. Every time I called support they said they couldn't connect because the number on the modem was erased or erased. I don't remember the exact wording. I finally got to my computer and hooked it up like this. For some reason I figured I couldn't connect it to the online instructions because I didn't have internet without my old modem plugged in. HA! For anyone who thinks the same way, you can still plug in your modem if you already have Comcast service. Just paste the link provided in the instructions and your new modem will be bound! I wish I had done this from the start! Saved me hours!
