Lifespan of 8-10 years: our best buy Revain! Excellent mattress. See UPDATES and photos:

ORIGINAL REVIEW 2013: I put off writing this review until my wife and I have slept in this bed for a year. This. First, the mattress was very cheap; The king-size mattress we bought was cheaper than the Sealy spring mattress that we replaced (after 11 years) for $500. Despite the price, this mattress was a good choice. Delivery took a few days and came in a vacuum bag. After getting it up the stairs, I placed it on a 7.5" tall box spring (which has 3" support rods) and unrolled it. I would advise not breaking the vacuum seal until the mattress is in place as it expands quickly and once expanded it can be difficult to move. Also make sure the mattress is right side up. After a few minutes the mattress was about 90% thick and after a few hours it had fully expanded. We left our bedroom window open at midday to allow the chemical smell to dissipate. By the time it was time to sleep, the bed was adequately aired and the chemical smell was only noticeable if you actually stuck your nose into the mattress. Also, my wife and I were willing to sleep in the guest room if the smell was still too strong, but we didn't have that problem. Now for the good parts; The standard sheet sets fit perfectly on this mattress and lying on the bed was extremely comfortable (similar to the TempurPedic which we tested when purchasing another mattress for one of our children). The feel of memory foam is completely different in a good way; supportive but not too hard. When researching memory foam mattresses, I was very confused that one reviewer said it was too hard and another said it was too soft, referring to the same mattress. After sleeping on a mattress, I can rate sleep quality as follows: Memory foam is perfect for your body, it feels firm at first, but as the foam compresses, it supports your body weight in all the right places. The feeling of softness kicks in as you sleep on it, remaining soft and comfortable (while also supportive) without feeling like you're sinking into quicksand. It's really awesome. After sleeping on it for a year and four seasons, I can say the mattress is still as comfortable as day one. I'm 230 pounds and my wife is very petite, but we both love the feel of this mattress. Where we sleep, the foam does not deform or curl. Yes, it's a bit warmer in the summer, but nothing special. Overall, this Sleep Innovations mattress is an amazing mattress and a great purchase. The 12 inch height is thick enough that you don't feel like you have to jump to get in like you did with the 14 inch height. After sleeping on a quality box spring bed while on vacation, my wife and I both realized we could never go back to a non-memory foam mattress. This was our favorite Revain purchase and I would highly recommend this mattress. Despite my excellent reviews, remember that what makes a good mattress is very subjective; What's comfortable for me may not be comfortable for you - so I've tried to describe the characteristics of this mattress as best I can. I hope this review helps you decide if this is a good choice for you. I have attached some photos for reference. UPDATE 5/1/2015: This bed is still comfortable and is holding up very well. The foam still compresses and releases like new and there were no lumps or hammocks. A few months ago I rotated it 180 degrees to even out the areas on it, as several other reviewers recommended (thanks!). I still give it a full five stars as my wife and I love this bed. UPDATE 11/16/2020: Less than nine years later, the side of my bed began to buckle slightly, presumably due to uneven foam rebound after I stood up. We loved this bed so much we ordered an identical replacement and so far the new one looks just as good.
