Bought to replace an old Lennox bypass humidifier that hasn't worked for years. I have trouble breathing and I think this will help. I'm quite comfortable, so the installation was made easier, since it was only necessary to enlarge the hole on the back channel. The old hygrostat in the living room is already connected, so installing the new hygrostat was easy. . I've attached a schematic I found online and it was easier to understand than the instructions. My oven has a "hum" connection for the black and white wires to the transformer, and the other end of the transformer is a series connection that goes through the humidistat and solenoid. I've read all the horror stories about the saddle faucet for hot water but still used it. Easy to install and no leakage. Installed in 3 days, works perfectly. The humidity in the house has dropped from 28% to 38%. It won't be of much use for the next few months, but it'll be ready for next winter when the stove is up and running.
