I am by definition a traditional "road master". I wear lycra but for casual "date nights" I wanted to try something to look cute. I wore them last night on August 20th for a 10 mile trip and they were great. I had my doubts. The pad is thicker and the lining does not stretch. Being discreet, I wore them around the house about an hour before our trip. They began to stretch a little and felt better. They have performed well in our daily journey. I could feel them breathing too since it was 90 degrees and muggy in Iowa when we started our trip. I wore panties under a cotton skirt and they weren't visible. I recommend, but watch out for the size. Normally I would wear medium shorts with traditional cycling shorts. I bought a large in this product. My height is 5 feet 31/2 inches. I weigh 157. I'm athletically built with a middle-aged soft stomach. The waist was comfortable but they sit low.
