I bought two of these because I have three cats. So far the box has been a garbage mess, which is what usually happens when people bury their "stuff". I'm happy with that. Cats have no problem getting to the top. I was a little worried my 16 year old son wouldn't be able to get out of the crate but he had no problems. I'm deducting a star because the urine leaks from the seams of the box and the puddle on the floor. So not only do I take out the trash, I pick up the box, clean under it and around the corner where it came out. Still worth buying as garbage is no longer carried through my house.
