What a great rug! There was a small problem with the delivery but I finally received my package and all is well that ends well. Skinny: This is a very well made rug. It is made of wool and is made in India. Now I understand that this rug might not be easy to clean, but in my experience good rugs are usually not easy to clean. "Softness" is not necessarily a characteristic of wool rugs, with the exception of sheepskin rugs where this is not the case. . The pile of this rug is low. But not as "low" as polyester carpets. Wool is thicker than polyester. And in my opinion much more pleasant to the touch. In terms of durability, this thing is a tank! The backing and stitching of this rug are sure signs of a quality product. I'm sure it will last for many years. I put it in my kitchen where the vinyl floor is. I have no problem with it slipping, but for those with more slippery floors you may need a non-slip pad as well. Overall this rug is of a very high quality and looks fantastic in my downtown apartment. I bought a 2ft 6in x 8ft runner for $50 and am very happy with the price. Update: April 30, 2020 I loved the rug so much I bought a 5ft 8ft one for the living area!
