Review on πŸ”ͺ Lansky LK3DM Advanced Diamond Sharpening System by Cameron Novak

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Cheap plastic! for mechanical and hand tools

Stones are glued to plastic case with cheap glue. I lost 2 out of 4 and had to re-glue them. This in itself is a minor thing and worth deducting just one star. The real killer of the stars is how the guide bars are attached to the rocks. The plastic has a set screw that screws into the brass fitting. Well, the set screws are constantly being unscrewed and loosened. This forces you to continually tighten the thumbscrews. After you've done this about 20 times, one of two things will happen: 1. The female brass insert will pop out of the stone.2. The plastic body of the brass insert breaks. If cracked, the stone can be discarded. I was tempted to order a new golf stone because it broke and I can no longer use a guide rod on it; However, I decided to just buy a new system from another manufacturer. I'm very disappointed with the quality here. Especially after spending $75 for the whole system, clamp and extra stone. And don't even get me started with a serrated knife stone! What a waste of money. Oh, and if you try to use the lowest angle of the guide clamp you can only sharpen the clamp itself, not the knife.

Pros
  • Three (3) sharpening blades with notches for fingers
Cons
  • Damaged
