F250 from 2004 to 2007 has a relatively poor filter. In 2008 Ford decided it was worth developing a new filter and dies to stamp the new transmission pan. The new filter is full flow. So I bought a pan pretty cheap, this filter and the gasket. In 2006 he also had an additional transmission filter, which I also bought. If you upgrade, you must either bypass the secondary filter or leave it on. I chose to leave it on. Transmissions from 2008 onwards have a longer service interval and this is probably due to better filtration as the rest of the transmissions are basically unchanged. Easy enough to drop and swap out the pan/filter. It's the same gearing, so the new-style pan shoots straight up. You CANNOT install this filter in a pre 2007 F250 unless you get a sump.
