Cost savings aren't worth the time and labor
The price was right and the pump looked good, so I installed it on my little used (under 10,000/year) '96 Bronco. After a while I started to notice coolant smell when it was warm and I had to top up the radiator regularly. Now, after a few years of use, coolant is flowing out of the drain hole copiously and the pump needs to be replaced. Savings on the pump in no way reduces the cost of re-replacing. In the future, I probably won't be buying heavy workload parts online.
