Artists in my family of varying skill levels loved these

I'm not an artist, not even one with a modicum of talent, but my husband is quite good at drawing and my children have a mix of our abilities. We all had a few painting sessions over the holidays to help me test this set. First, from my point of view, not knowing anything about art or tools---I especially liked the pastels. They felt completely different in my hands than anything I've ever used before. They were a bit like chalk but much smoother and almost looked like paint on paper. It was a pleasure drawing with them. There is also a wide range of pencils, some of which are charcoal and they were great too. My husband loves the set too! He could look at the picture he was painting, something he simply couldn't do with other artistic tools. He looked detached from the side. He also loved a special eraser that was almost like plasticine. I erased a lot of excess pastel without a trace. The set is impressive, lots of attachments like a sharpener. One note: once you open it, it's very difficult to put everything back in and close without getting caught in the middle. But we did it! I think this would make a great gift for an aspiring artist as it would show them that you are serious about their art and it would be something they could always have with a wooden box. The set is impressive, with many extras such as a sharpener. One note: once you open it, it's very difficult to put everything back in and close it lest everything fall in the middle. But we did it!
