keep an eye on the budget

Bought this monitor as a third screen for needed space when multitasking multiple windows. I chose this based on 90% RGB so I can also use it as my main monitor for photo editing. I hooked it up to my laptop and ran the calibration tools and reference images on all my other displays including my phone (because that's where most people see my content) and I spent over an hour getting the monitor to look good . No matter what I tried, my calibration tools couldn't achieve the perfect setting. It was always a compromise between the right color and the right sharpness. No matter what I did, the white always had a greyish-blue tint and some gray areas had a red tint. After connecting the monitor for the first time I had a strange update flickering which was fixed by changing my monitor from "HD 1080" to "PC 1080" in the nvidia settings. Even though this monitor supports up to 75Hz, I experienced some weird screen tearing when trying to play on it, although it was still worth it because the black dots/shadows were very strong, like an old TV. For anything other than Spotify, browsing the web, and viewing research while doing schoolwork, I'll stick with my laptop's 144Hz screen since it does everything this monitor does, but it's best to ban a few things (physical screen size, tilt and rotation because it is meant to stand on the monitor)

Pros
  • Preferably
Cons
  • Bad contrast
