07/20/2021: so after only 2 months it started to get louder and louder. I made sure it wasn't a filter, a cap, or just a loose suction cup that was making a buzzing noise. Vain. Ideal for small and portable tanks. I wanted this for my sick tank to keep the water as healthy as possible, but ended up using it for my red claw crab habitat all the time. The filter is a simple L-shape, allowing you to cut new filters from a clean large piece of carbon filter material.
