gorgeous! A Few Things You Should Know First -

This dress lasts! There are a few things to note but overall I'm in love with this dress and can't believe I was lucky to find it. Nobody will know how little you paid unless you tell them. Don't tell them. <wink>I usually wear a dress XL/1X (16-18-20), pants 16-18, jacket 18-20. I have a very large bust and stomach, but no natural waist to speak of (inherited from my family, we're all bricks). These, um, blessings make it difficult to find formal attire, let alone everyday work and play items that suit my abilities and make me look good. Cheers: - XXL fits great. Let's start with this: THIS IS A GREAT FIT - Arrived MUCH quicker (in a week) than stated - Includes chiffon scarf and sheer bra straps - To be honest the photos are not true. The dress is stunning and itself is hourglass shaped. Putting it on made me feel like I was 6 years old again and dreaming I was Cinderella. - The fishtail/mermaid style looks amazing on my figure and balances my curvy bust and brick torso. - The stretchy material is very gentle and easy to pull (formally) over the head. Oh, first loosen your shoelaces if you're going to do that. Due to my build and the stretchy material, I will be wearing a long corset underneath. I never expected this dress to support my anatomy on its own lol! - There is a back zipper under the lacing. I missed it at first. I don't often have ladies-in-waiting zipping me, so I personally ignore the zip. - Perfect length. I'm 5'8" and it glides across the floor without shoes. After the first try on I hung it up straight away and it really helped the dress to "relax". While the dress is two layers, you have to first stretch the inner layer. Or maybe it's the length of the torso. I have a normal torso length. - Adjust your expectations. This is not a very expensive hand embroidered dress that weighs a ton. This dress is quite light weight which I give as a plus considering as I'm always too hot in formal wear I admit I was repelled at first: the package didn't look like it could contain a long sequined dress!- The blue is a bit darker than my monitor showed which is good , I was afraid the royal blue color I saw would be too light - I paid 58.99 and it is an AMAZING price for such a beautiful dress WARNINGS: This dress DOES NOT have underwires or integrated seams This Dress has no internal structure. In other words, if you have the perfect hourglass, if you're all self-sculpting, and/or have unbearably full boobs, you MUST wear basic clothing (corset, spanks, whatever you choose). With fabric this stretchy, avoid plain clothing at your peril or embarrassment. The lacing on the back is more of a design accent. Although it can be used to "fit" the dress, it is NOT to be used/expected to be used like a corset. Simple clothes again! Putting on a dress and making it look amazing takes some effort. Remember to gently pull the inner layer into place first and then place the top layer on top. Layers of fishtail tulle need to be laid. The tip will most likely NOT stay up on its own. Any strapless dress will constantly try to migrate south if preventive measures are not taken. I'm wondering if the included clear straps will work? Haven't tried it yet. Sequins will fall off any sequined outfit no matter what. Really expensive hand embroidered clothing comes with a small bag of extra beads as you will need to patch them over time. At this price, you don't get any extra sequins, and you shouldn't expect any. The sewn-in bibs bother me and are therefore removed. I've got enough bust size already, so these don't help me in any way. Because of them, the dress just looks awkward. I bought this dress for two different Halloween costumes. An ensemble, with two friends - we will be sea sirens. As other reviewers point out, it's entirely possible to wear it to a formal event - again, with the right attire base. (Did I mention how important that is? lol.) I also bought an oversized petticoat that fluffs up the bottom of the dress to give it more structure and look like a mermaid tail. This petticoat has two hoops that allow me to walk around without tripping over my dress! And bonus: no annoying flashes of bare legs to distract from the dress. To check it out, search "Remedios 2 Bone Hoops Mermaid Crinoline Dress Bridal Petticoat Underskirt S-XL" by Topwedding. I received size L-XL in black and it's very comfortable. It's a little strange to navigate when first trying it on, but I quickly got used to it.
