I use this material in an open pond and love it. It is so durable that you can use it countless times. I hit him with the hose and he washes himself clean which is very nice lol. There are times of the year when my area has storms and leaves fall at the same time, and my pond needs a little help keeping it clean. Storms bring all kinds of mud, leaves and the like, and it just turns to mud faster than the pump can handle. I take this material, cut a piece, wrap it around the pumps and tie it with a rubber band. I'm amazed at what he can pull out of the water. Then I put it on an old wire table and hit it with the hose until it was clean and put it back on. I haven't seen any of these break down or deteriorate. Highly recommended!
