Review on EUREKA Airspeed Ultra Lightweight Compact Replacement by Melissa Brewer

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good suction, difficult to push/manoeuvre.

*Update: We ended up returning this Eureka and traded it in for the Dirt Devil, which was similar in design and price but had bigger wheels. (And it's slightly larger overall.) The Dirt Devil is easier to push and doesn't have the "braking" that comes with undersized Eureka wheels. Otherwise, Eureka was a good little vacuum cleaner! It's just better for VERY flat carpets (or none) - the kind you see in high-traffic areas like hotels and offices. Or bare floors? I suspect that the texture of my Berber carpet was the main problem with this vacuum. Too bad I had to send it back! ______________ I'm not 100% sure about this vacuum yet. I have to try it the same day I received it. I will say that the suction power is excellent, especially for a small vacuum. It has a few built-in tools and a hose for deep cleaning. BUT. I was expecting it to be MUCH easier to maneuver than it is. The wheels hardly "slip". Or any slip. They seem to stick. You look too small. It's surprisingly difficult to push this vacuum across carpet. My carpet is brand new, low pile. I specifically chose this vacuum cleaner because my back hurts a lot. I needed a basic handheld vacuum that is a bit more compact and lighter than others. It is important to me that the household is manageable so that I can retain a certain degree of independence. This vacuum does not help with this purpose. They are more difficult to use than my very old "8 lb Oreck" vacuum. Since they are so difficult to maneuver, I will not physically be able to use this vacuum cleaner as often as necessary. At least not without help. To be honest, I'm not sure if I should just live with it (no pun intended, I swear!) and keep it or give it back. I could still go now. 😕
