Review on IKEDON USB Condenser Microphone Kit: Professional Studio Sound for Recording, Podcasting, Gaming, and YouTube Streaming by Ken Arellano

I bought this for video conferencing and was very disappointed. I checked the mic, made sure the input level was set to the highest level, and then recorded my voice using a regular music mixing and editing app that was about 4 inches from the mic. Then, sitting in the same place, I recorded my voice. with my iMac's internal microphones placed about 24 inches from my mouth. This mic's input level was about half the input level of my iMac (with identical system settings), even though the iMac was a lot farther from my mouth. I didn't use any of the shields that came with it. So the claim that this mic is "very powerful" doesn't apply to those using it on the latest iMac model. I also tested my MacBook Pro and the laptop mics worked even better than the iMac, so much better than this mic. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with the latest iMac or MacBook Pro (13") as it outperforms your built-in mics by about 50%.
