I live on a golf course and like to take my dogs for a walk in the evenings. Now that it's getting dark at 5pm I wanted something that would help me track her off a leash. They never go too far, but they're pretty hard to see at night. After searching on Amazon I found them and decided to try them. I have used them several times and am very impressed! The blue is a bit darker than the red but still quite bright. It's nice that they flash fast and slow, plus it's on all the time. I usually use slow blinking or constant blinking. Several people have noticed that they fall off and get lost. I haven't had this problem and that's why I think it is. The polymer tube remains in the center of the illuminated part due to friction. It seems to me that repeated removal can lead to wear and improper fixation. I carefully trimmed mine so they can be placed on the dog's ears without disassembling the unit. I took the extra time and made sure it was right - you don't want it to be difficult to put on, but you don't want it slipping off the dog's head when he/she sniffs the ground. One of me (the half-dog) spends more time with his nose pressed to the ground, so I made her a little more comfortable, but was still able to easily slip a couple of fingers between him and her neck. My camera phone (GS7e) didn't work well because it was almost dark. In general I like it. I think you'll be happy if you take the time to find the right size and make sure it's easy to put on your head but not loose enough to fall off.
