Burning chemical smell, do not buy.

Don't buy these chopping boards. A sharp, pungent odor emanates from the edges of the boards. I hand washed them with a sponge when I noticed the smell after opening the package, but that somehow aggravated the situation. I then tried putting them in the dishwasher, which was a terrible mistake. The smell intensified and my entire apartment was filled with a burning chemical smell that made my nose work. I immediately threw them in the trash and took out the trash. I had to turn on the fans, open the windows and leave the apartment until it was ventilated. I don't understand how they can sell this.
