Can't comment on the longevity of this collar as I sent it back. However, I ordered several collars to compare and this one turned out to be the best, only it didn't fit my small dog. The collar was thicker than she normally wears and she didn't like it. The holder seemed very reliable and I'm sure it would work just fine.
