Review on 🔪 Enhanced Outivity Japanese Whetstones for Precise Sharpening by Chris Dildine

Between collecting knives and finding therapeutic relief through sharpening. In general, I really like these stones. A bit of leveling does them great, although I haven't had a problem with stones coming off the plastic base. A lot of the reviews mention bad cuts on the rocks and they are not kidding. Stones vary in thickness and you must judge the grain size yourself. It usually takes me just 10-20 minutes to sharpen to the scary, shave-worthy "show someone how to open that knife before you give it to them" even with the dumb hardness of 9Cr and D2. I don't use the 2 coarser grits very often as I have larger stones of the same grits at home and one in my road set is smaller, but as far as I can tell it's in order of the higher grits: Coarse. White: 800g Smooth Black: 1500g Smooth White: 3000g Smooth Pink: 6000g Smooth Black: 8000g Green: 10000g The first two of these are almost interchangeable, but that's my recommendation.
