Avoid mounting on a steerer tube. It will work a little, but that's all.
Installed this on the quad lock fork stem mount on my CBR and it worked great once and then kept loading and unloading. They mentioned that the vibration probably damaged it and I even have a vibration dampener. For $38 it's ridiculous. They refunded me but minus the discount and shipping so I still paid $4 for a useless charger that I threw away. I bought another one for $14 and it works perfectly. I would avoid this for the price and durability as it is not designed to work where it is installed. Wanted to leave a review on their website but couldn't figure out how, another downside for them as they always seem to have a lot of 4/5 star reviews. I love my mount but will spend less money on a better charger.
