This is a unique shirt that differs from standard polo shirts in that the yarn used is slightly shiny and heavier, so you can see the knitting - almost like an ultralight sweater , but not warm like sweater. It's cool and comfy, but be aware they run small! If you prefer a slim fit over your polo shirts to show off your athletic figure, order your normal size. If you prefer a looser fit, whether for comfort or to camouflage your dad's body, order one size up! I'm tall, relatively thin, 185 pounds and can usually wear a medium or large shirt depending on the shirt. Having had issues in the past with some garments imported from China being too small, I ordered size XL and am glad I did; it fits me like a big one usually does, so plan accordingly. As for the appearance, it is a knitted stripe, not a print, so the stripes are bright, clear and beautiful. "White" is actually a little off-white, and navy blue is very dark, almost black. I had to hold it up in bright light to realize it was actually navy blue - and the collar might be a little lighter than the stripes, but overall it looks great. The ribbed knit cuffs and hem aren't my usual pick, but it makes it versatile for wearing tucked in or unbuttoned. when i ordered it. It's just a matter of making it her favorite shirt, but I still really like it.
