The gasket was used to replace the gasket on a 23 year old Kenmore or Whirlpool dishwasher that had a small H2O leak on one side. After installing a new gasket, the leak has reduced. I was hoping that the two compression cavities on the new gasket would be enough to ensure a good seal. To solve the gasket problem I removed the new gasket and placed a small 4.8mm deep, 1cm wide MD brand foam window gasket in the channel. I placed the new gasket in the channel above the foam gasket. The result is a perfect seal. No H2O escapes. The additional channel depth increased the tension on the doorknob, resulting in a tighter fit. Suggest making the disc a little thicker to accommodate wear and reduce discomfort. -- I could just use a foam gasket on the old gasket and make sure it seals properly, but I was hoping the new primary gasket would do the job. Also note that the door latch was fine so replacing it wasn't a problem for me.
