It's been great since

First I want to say that I have no bad feelings about any other dog food I've tried, it just didn't work for my dog's situation. I currently have a Pit Bull mix, 5 years old. I started with Hill's SD Adult dog food - I think it was called "Active Longevity" or something - it was for active adult dogs. Ever since we adopted her and she has been eating this food she has thrown up about once a week. At first I thought she was eating too fast and then she became active which could lead to an upset stomach. I started keeping her in the kennel for about 1/2-1 hour after eating so she could start digesting her food and maybe she didn't get an upset stomach from physical activity but when she kept throwing up thought me, there must be something different. Since she's a pit bull, and we know pit bulls are prone to allergies, I thought maybe she just has a sensitive stomach - I found the cheapest of the limited ingredient diets and decided to try the lamb and brown rice. Since then she has been great. I recently thought I might try something cheaper (and I won't mention the brand name here), but I tried another brand's version for sensitive stomachs and it started throwing up again. I used to have a border collie mix that I fed initially. blue buffalo - he had persistent diarrhea and I switched him to adult Dick van Patten formula. he was doing great on this formula until he got crystals in his urine and had to be switched to Hills SD c/d - he was doing great on Hills too - but I've had such a great experience with the Dick van Patten brand that I'm writing you a review about her. this is a great brand!
