We bought this mat to place in front of a workbench in our workshop. The carpet lies on the concrete floor. After using it a few times we found that it significantly reduced foot pain and was very comfortable to stand on. The edges are beveled so it's not easy to trip over them. The quality of the pillow (comfort and support) is comparable to the more expensive brands that we have in the kitchen. The only downside for some is that the design is raised on the outside edges, so it might take a bit more to sweep or clean. harder than if the mat were perfectly smooth. That was the only reason I gave him a four and not a five.
