I bought this birthday present for my coworker's 2 year old son because she desperately needs elastic waist pants for the midwest winter. Your son has a thin waist and long legs and he is indeed 2t in waist but almost 3t in length. They have elastic all over the waistband, not just part of it, and the pattern is amazing. The pockets are just a bonus I think as he learns to talk and touch things. He just loves collecting pebbles, acorns, etc. All she has to do is check his pockets before loading the washing machine!
