My husband uses this knife set at work in the lab. It works with, among other things, hard distillate oils that sometimes have to be cut into pieces. This set contains 5 different types of knives: chef's knife, bread knife, santoku knife, utility knife and paring knife. He likes variety. They are made of stainless steel and appear to be quite durable. They have sharpness, but they used to have much sharper knives. Of all the knives, he likes the chef's knife very much and gets the most out of it. He really likes the look of marble, but says he'd like it better if they were actually marble. They seem useless or are just a marketing gimmick. The sleeves are too loose on the knives. He likes pens and says they feel good in the hand. He also found them well packaged. In general he likes knives and will use them; he just wasn't very impressed.
