Happy to return a Merlot that is too much rusty brown and fits a little small despite ordering the same size as this one. It's a bit heavy for me, but the weight is pretty normal for this type of down jacket. The blue isn't average it's a very dark blue so it's great because I think it's more versatile than black but not a boring black jacket. I understand why some people complain that the sleeves are too long, but they fit me as I have longer arms and I like that they have a little more coverage as they don't have cuffs on the inside. The hand warmer in the pocket is very soft. It's not the warmest but normal for normal winter weather. If the temperature is below freezing you will need to wear a layer of clothing no matter what jacket you wear. I like that the hood closes very high so it covers the neck very well as I don't like wearing a scarf. The hood covers the entire face when you zip it up, making it comfortable to run in in windy or snowy weather. I'm not a big fan of faux fur, but it helps add extra neck protection and snow protection when closed with a hood. Anyway, it's detachable.
