I got this brace because I had previously subluxed the patella and now tend to subluxe or dislocate it fairly easily when I exercise. I run regularly, do hurdle races, and do quite a bit of high-impact exercise. Being sidelined due to another knee injury had a huge impact on my lifestyle. I've tried several knee pads, both inexpensive and quite expensive. These fairly inexpensive braces (comparatively) are my favorite. I just put it on for a Spartan Super (through mud, water, rough terrain and lots of hard obstacles) and it held my patella in place beautifully. After getting wet, it didn't move or got overly wet. During the race it was very easy to make small adjustments to tighten or loosen. As a bonus, because it's fairly small it's super easy to clean, so it's ready for some extra practice!
