My dog ate it well. Collars, harnesses and leashes

I have no idea how that happened. One day I came home from work and my puppy's collar was taken off and it looks like she ate it. The latch and all the metal parts she couldn't touch, we gnawed the fabric part of the collar into 3 pieces. How she took it off, I have no idea. The locking mechanism may be defective. I took her to the park just a few hours ago so I know it was right. Confuses me. Aside from eating it, it's a great product. My other dog is still wearing it with no problems. It's a shame that I've had this collar for more than two months, haha.
